The XQuartz project is an open-source effort to develop a version of the X.Org X Window System that runs on OS X. Together with supporting libraries and applications, it forms the X11.app that Apple shipped with OS X versions 10.5 through 10.7.
David Josselyn., Owner at MacOSGames.net. Answered 2 years ago. If your Macbook is relatively recent and supports EFI booting, you can download the Windows 10 installer from Microsoft, and either use a Windows machine to run the Create Installation Media tool to write that installer to a sufficiently sized USB flash drive (8Gb should be enough). If you don't have access to a Windows machine, you can use the utilty Unetbootin to do the same task on MacOS or Linux.
Mac OS X is an advanced operating system, easy to use and extremely stable when used daily, and sometimes one would prefer to have OSX on PC rather than using Windows 7 or latest Windows 10. Mac's version is a bit more systemwide, with some older Windows dialogs still not darkened. The Windows 10 May 2019 Update adds a Custom option, which lets you decide whether you want dark. This system currently requires Startup Manager to switch between Windows and macOS. If you choose Restart in OS X from the Windows Boot Camp menu, this message appears: 'Could not locate the OS X boot volume.' Follow these steps to boot into macOS or Windows: Restart your Mac, then immediately hold down the Option key. This is an amazing feature of the Mac OS. Simply find out the same function working on the Windows 10 by using the app named QuickLook. Install it and the quick view will pop for any file as video or small screenshot.

OS X Software Updates have included some of the work done by the XQuartz project, but for various reasons, Apple cannot ship the latest and greatest version offered by the XQuartz site. Since the XQuartz X11 package clobbers Apple's X11.app, their software update will clobber the XQuartz X11 package. Because of this, you may experience conflicts after doing a Software Update from Apple. Please re-install the latest XQuartz X11 release for Leopard after installing a system software update to OS X 10.5.x Leopard.

An XQuartz installation consists of many individual pieces of software which have various licenses. The X.Org software components' licenses are discussed on theX.Org Foundation Licenses page. The quartz-wm window manager included with the XQuartz distribution uses the Apple Public Source License Version 2.

2. Use Boot Camp Assistant to create a Windows partition
Open Boot Camp Assistant, which is in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder. Follow the onscreen instructions.
- If you're asked to insert a USB drive, plug your USB flash drive into your Mac. Boot Camp Assistant will use it to create a bootable USB drive for Windows installation.
- When Boot Camp Assistant asks you to set the size of the Windows partition, remember the minimum storage-space requirements in the previous section. Set a partition size that meets your needs, because you can't change its size later.
3. Format the Windows (BOOTCAMP) partition
When Boot Camp Assistant finishes, your Mac restarts to the Windows installer. If the installer asks where to install Windows, select the BOOTCAMP partition and click Format. In most cases, the installer selects and formats the BOOTCAMP partition automatically.
4. Install Windows
Unplug any external devices that aren't necessary during installation. Then click Next and follow the onscreen instructions to begin installing Windows.
5. Use the Boot Camp installer in Windows
After Windows installation completes, your Mac starts up in Windows and opens a 'Welcome to the Boot Camp installer' window. Follow the onscreen instructions to install Boot Camp and Windows support software (drivers). You will be asked to restart when done.
- If the Boot Camp installer never opens, open the Boot Camp installer manually and use it to complete Boot Camp installation.
- If you have an external display connected to a Thunderbolt 3 port on your Mac, the display will be blank (black, gray, or blue) for up to 2 minutes during installation.
